SAN ANTONIO MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN FEDERAL PRISON
FOR ORANGE COUNTY TRAFFIC STOP

 

            BEAUMONT, TX --  U.S. Attorney Rebecca Gregory announced today that a 45-year-old San Antonio, TX man has been sentenced to Life in federal prison for drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas. 

            REGINALD STANLY STROTHER was convicted at trial on May 29, 2008, of possession with the intent to distribute more than 50 grams of crack cocaine and was sentenced today to Life in federal prison by United States District Judge Marcia Crone.

            According to information presented in court, Strother was arrested on Nov. 9, 2006, following a traffic stop on IH-10 in Orange County, Texas.  Strother was found to be in possession of over 80 grams of crack cocaine during the traffic stop.  He was indicted by a federal grand jury on Dec. 6, 2006.

            This case was investigated by the Orange County Sheriff's Office and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys John A. Craft and Michelle Englade.
