TEXARKANA MAN SENTENCED FOR ROBBING TEXAS BANK
TEXARKANA, TX – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 41-year-old Texarkana, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for bank robbery in the Eastern District of Texas.
TERRY LEE WILLIAMS pleaded guilty on Aug. 26, 2009 to bank robbery charges and was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge David Folsom.
According to information presented in court, on May 28, 2009, Williams entered the Capitol One Bank in the 4800 block of Texas Blvd., in Texarkana, Texas and taking less than $1,000. The money was recovered by law enforcement that same day. Williams admitted to taking the money by force and violence, or intimidation and was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 3, 2009.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Denise Simpson.
