FORMER RED RIVER ARMY DEPOT SUPERVISOR SENTENCED FOR
THEFT OF GOVERNMENT PROPERTY
TEXARKANA, TX – U.S. Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that a former supervisor at the Red River Army Depot has been sentenced for theft of government property in the Eastern District of Texas.
JODY L. WILSON, 50, of Ashdown Arkansas, pleaded guilty on Sept. 25, 2008, to felony theft of public property and was sentenced today to 3 years probation by U.S. District Judge David Folsom. Wilson was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $3,142.32.
According to information presented in court, on Dec. 14, 2007, while employed as a supervisor at the Red River Army Depot, Wilson stole various mechanical related pieces of government property, valued at $3,142.32. Wilson admitted to stealing 7 spools of insulated wire ranging in size from 8 to 14 gauge, a couple wrenches, an electric grinder, a stencil marking set, and a no-contact thermometer. Wilson was indicted by a federal grand jury on Aug 5, 2008.
This case was investigated by the Red River Army Depot and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Denise Simpson.
