DALLAS MAN GUILTY OF DEALING METH IN EAST TEXAS
TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 45-year-old Dallas man has pleaded guilty to federal drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
ALEJANDRO CABRERA pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine today before U.S. Magistrate Judge John D. Love.
According to information presented in court, from 2007 through July 23, 2009, Cabrera conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine to others in Dallas County and Smith County, Texas. Cabrera was arrested on July 23, 2009, and was found to be in possession of about one pound of methamphetamine. A federal grand jury returned an indictment on Aug. 4, 2009, charging Cabrera with federal drug violations.
Cabrera faces up to 20 years in federal prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Ann Cozby.
