TWO DALLAS MEN GUILTY OF FEDERAL DRUG TRAFFICKING IN THE EASTERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS
TYLER, Texas – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that two Dallas men have pleaded guilty to drug trafficking in the Eastern District of Texas.
LEONEL MIRALRRIO, JR., 23, and MICAH DEAN THOMSON, 42, both of Dallas, pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine today before U.S. Magistrate Judge John D. Love.
According to information presented in court, beginning in 2007, Miralrrio and Thomson conspired to distribute methamphetamine from Dallas County through the Eastern District of Texas. Thomson was arrested in Gregg County, Texas on Jan. 16, 2009, in possession of about 44 grams of methamphetamine and Miralrrio was arrested on July 23, 2009, in Smith County, Texas with about one pound of methamphetamine. A federal grand jury returned an indictment on Aug. 5, 2009, charging Miralrrio and Thomson with federal drug violations.
Miralrrio faces up to Life in federal prison and Thomson faces up to 20 years in federal prison at sentencing. Sentencing dates have not been set.
This case is being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Ann Cozby.
