GREGG COUNTY WOMAN GUILTY OF DISTRIBUTING METHAMPHETAMINE
TYLER, Texas – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 51-year-old Longview, Texas woman has pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
SHERI ANN YOUNG pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine today before U.S. Magistrate Judge John D. Love.
According to information presented in court, on Aug. 11, 2009, Young was found to be in possession of about 23.5 grams of methamphetamine which she intended to distribute to others. On Nov. 4, 2009, a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging Young with federal drug trafficking violations.
Young faces up to 20 years in federal prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case is being investigated by the DEA, the ATF, and the Gregg County CODE Unit and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Ann Cozby.
