Plano Woman Sentenced For Federal Tax Fraud
PLANO, Texas – A Plano woman has been sentenced to federal prison for income tax violations in the Eastern District of Texas announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.
Dulcinea Annette Hansard was found guilty on June 30, 2010, to making and subscribing to a false tax return for the year 2006 and was sentenced to 36 months in federal prison on Apr. 26, 2011, by U.S. District Judge Richard A. Schell. Hansard was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $312,578.00.
According to information presented in court, Hansard under reported her income for the years 2003, 2004, 2005,, 2006 and 2007, by not reporting income she illegally derived through embezzlement which resulted in a total tax liability of $312,578, which Hansard must repay. She was indicted by a federal grand jury on April 15, 2010.
This case was investigated by the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigations and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Andy Williams.
