TYLER MAN SENTENCED FOR DISTRIBUTING METHAMPHETAMINE
Sent to federal pen for over 19 years

TYLER, Texas – A 35-year-old Tyler, Texas man has pleaded been sentenced to federal prison for trafficking  methamphetamine in the Eastern District of Texas announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

Lucio Adan pleaded guilty on Oct. 28, 2010 to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced to 235 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis.

                According to information presented in court, up until Mar. 25, 2010, Adan conspired with others to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine throughout East Texas.  Adan was indicted by a federal grand jury on May 6, 2010.

                Adan must also forfeit $20,695 in cash and firearms that were seized and ordered to pay a $30,000 judgment.

                This case was investigated by the DEA and the Smith County Sheriff's Office and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Baldwin.
