Convicted Sex Offender Sentenced for Child Pornography Violations in Collin County

PLANO, Texas – A 29-year-old Frisco, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for child pornography violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today. 
David Duncan pleaded guilty on Nov. 23, 2010, to attempted receipt of child pornography and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard Schell on Nov. 30, 2011, to 180 months in federal prison followed by supervised release for the rest of his life.

                According to information presented in court, Duncan was being investigated for purchasing access to a website which allowed him to download and possess images of child pornography.  Duncan is a convicted sex offender having received probation for a state charge of possession of child pornography in Denton County, Texas.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
