Longview, Texas Woman Guilty of Dealing Methamphetamine
TYLER, Texas – A 47-year-old Longview, Texas woman has pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.
Cathy Dean Massie pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Judith K. Guthrie.
According to information presented in court, from June 2007, Massie acquired methamphetamine from co-defendants who obtained it from sources in the Dallas area for distribution in East Texas. On May 6, 2008, Massie distributed methamphetamine to multiple people from her residence in Longview. She was indicted by a federal grand jury on Nov. 4, 2008.
Massie faces up to 20 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case is being investigated by the DEA, the Gregg County C.O.D.E. unit, the Gregg County Sheriff's Office, the Longview Police Department and the Gregg County District Attorney's Office and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Ann Cozby.
