BEAUMONT MAN SENTENCED FOR POSSESSION OF CRACK COCAINE
TYLER, TX – U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 28-year-old Beaumont, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for possession of crack cocaine in the Eastern District of Texas.
KENNEDY PAUL POLIDORE was found guilty at trial on Apr. 9, 2009, of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and was sentenced today to 137 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.
According to information presented in court, on Sep. 21, 2008, while the mandatory curfew established in the wake of Hurricane Ike was still in effect, law enforcement authorities received an anonymous 911 call that a person known as Kennedy Polidore was selling crack cocaine at a Beaumont apartment complex. Police responded and observed Polidore get into the car that was identified by the caller. Polidore led the officers on a short, high speed chase until he crashed his vehicle. Crack cocaine and cocaine HCL were found in the vehicle following the crash. He was indicted by a federal grand jury on Oct. 8, 2008, and charged with federal drug trafficking crimes.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Beaumont Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle S. Englade.
