
Community and Outreach Initiatives
The U.S. Attorney's Office takes a proactive approach to crime and drug prevention throughout the district. The office has adopted a number of strategies to carry out the Office's mission of making Northern Texas communities a safer place to work and live.

The Victim-Witness Program was developed to ensure that crime victims in this district are informed of their rights and to assist crime victims throughout the criminal court process. This office is committed to ensuring that victims and witnesses of federal crimes are treated fairly, their privacy is respected and they are treated with dignity and respect. |

After the events of 9/11, an Anti-Terrorism Task Force was formed comprised of federal, state, and local agents who coordinate and develop investigative and prosecutive strategies in dealing with terrorism in Northern Texas and throughout the country. |

Project Safe Neighborhoods is a gun violence reduction initiative being carried out in each of the nation's 93 federal judicial districts. |

In 2006 the U.S. Department of Justice established Project Safe Childhood as a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online sexual exploitation and abuse. Our office works strenuously to protect Texas kids by aggressively prosecuting Internet (and other) child predators and by educating kids, parents, and others about better avoiding such dangers on the Internet.

Through the efforts of the US Attorney, the Law Enforcement Coordinator, LEC, and Victim-Witness Coordinator, VWC, a variety of training opportunities are now available to all federal, state and local agencies. Also the LEC and VWC assist with promoting grant opportunities and other funding initiatives that provide benefits to the community.
