Financial Litigation ...

       

The Financial Litigation Unit ("FLU") enforces judgments to collect money owed to the United States.

Civil recoveries are generally from delinquent student loans, civil fraud prosecutions, and penalties.  

Criminal recoveries are from restitution, which are returned to victims of crime, and fines and penalties, which are distributed through various state grants for use by victims of crime.

Q: Where do I make my payments ?

 

A1:  Criminal restitution, fine and special assessment payments should be mailed to:

Be sure to write your case number on your check for proper payment application.

You can also contact the clerk to make payments by credit card: (801) 524-6100.

 

A2:  Civil payments should be made payable and mailed to:

 

U.S. Department of Justice

St. Louis, MO 63179-0363

 

Be sure to write your name and U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) number or CDCS number on your check or money order and include your payment coupon for proper payment application.

 

If you have access to the internet and wish to pay your civil debt electronically, you can also:

Log on to https://www.pay.gov

Select "Search Public Forms" link

Enter the form name: "DOJ DAOG"

Use your USAO case number and payment information to complete the form.

 

 

Q: I represent a title company and need the payoff amount for a debtor.  Who do I call ?

 

A:  Information cannot be provided to a third party without the consent of the debtor. Before you call, please fax authorization from the debtor to the Financial Litigation Unit at (801) 524-6924.
