FIRST OF THREE ORANGE, VA. CRACK DEALERS GETS SENTENCED

Kenneth Lee Myles Will Serve 120 Months In Federal Prison

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA -- The first of three defendants from Orange, Va., who have admitted their guilt to being part of conspiracy that sold crack, was sentenced today in the U.S. District Court here.

Kenneth Lee Myles, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to distribute over 50 grams of crack cocaine earlier this year. Today in District Court, he was sentenced to 120 months of incarceration and five years of supervised release thereafter.

Myles, along with Sheron Odell Gentry, 22 and Jeffery Sterling Deane. Jr., 23, were indicted in December 2008 and charged with a variety of crimes related to their participation in a conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine. All three defendants have entered guilty pleas to one count of conspiring to distribute over 50 grams of crack cocaine.

The two remaining defendants in this case are scheduled to be sentenced later this year. Both Deane and Gentry face a possible life sentence and/or a fine of up to $7 million.

The investigation of the case was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Blue Ridge Task Force and the Town of Orange Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Ronald Huber will prosecute the case for the United States.
