The U.S. Attorney’s Office in collaboration with Green River Pictures, joined forces to produce a public service announcement about the danger of internet sexual exploitation of minors. The PSA, which aired originally on WCAX last year, won a New England Emmy Award. The award was accepted by Derek Hallquist of Green River Pictures in Boston this week. The New England Emmys are a division of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The PSA has been playing on local television networks throughout Vermont. It highlights the potential risks and dangers the internet can present for teens who use the internet. With handheld devices, a teenager can be the victim of sexual exploitation within minutes anywhere. Technology can be dangerous without the proper education and supervision. The primary purpose of the PSA is to educate both parents and teens about dangerous online conduct.
