NEW YORK MAN SENTENCED FOR DISTRIBUTING CRACK COCAINE
The Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Vermont stated that Jason Jones, 34, of Albany, New York, was sentenced today to 96 months in prison after his guilty plea to drug trafficking charges. Chief United States District Judge William K. Sessions III, sitting in Burlington, also sentenced Jones to a three-year period of supervised release.
According to court documents in the case, defendant Jones distributed approximately 11 grams of crack cocaine, also known as cocaine base, to a confidential information working with the government. The defendant distributed the cocaine in Bennington, Vermont.
United States Attorney Thomas D. Anderson commended the efforts of the Southern Vermont Drug Task Force in investigating the case. Jones was represented by Peter Langrock of Langrock, Sperry & Wool. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Barbara Masterson.
