ADDISON MAN SENTENCED TO 18 MONTHS IMPRISONMENT FOR COCAINE DISTRIBUTION AND FORFEITS $32,900

The Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Vermont stated today that Martin D’Onofrio, 42, of Addison, was sentenced in United States District Court in Burlington to 18 months imprisonment for cocaine distribution. Judge William K. Sessions III also sentenced D”Onofrio to four years supervised release to begin at the conclusion of the prison sentence. D’Onofrio had previously pled guilty to this offense and also agreed to the forfeiture of $32,900 of drug proceeds and a 2000 Mercedes-Benz SUV.

According to court records, on February 26, 2008, the Northern Vermont Drug Task Force of the Vermont State Police arrested D’Onofrio on Burroughs Road in Ferrisburg with approximately 500 grams of cocaine. A search of D’Onofrio’s house in Addison revealed an additional 28 grams of cocaine and close to $10,000 in currency.

This case was investigated by the Northern Vermont Drug Task Force. The United States is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Perella. D’Onofrio is represented by Norman Blais, Esq. of Burlington.
