Civil Rights Program
The Office’s Civil Rights Program helps enforce federal civil rights laws within the District of Vermont.

Project Safe Childhood is a more comprehensive approach to combating online child exploitation. It includes a strong partnership between law enforcement agencies and community organizations, including children's advocates, victim service providers, educators, non-profits and social service agencies.

Project Safe Neighborhoods is a statewide initiative that includes partnerships among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies; strategic planning incorporating such technologies as crime mapping, gun tracing and ballistic analysis; training that brings together federal, state and local officials to build effective teams; outreach to communities; and accountability for impact on community safety.
 
Victim Witness Assistance Victim & Witness Assistance
The United States Attorney's Office is committed to protecting the rights of federal crime victims and witnesses.
 
 Terrorism & National Security
The District of Vermont's Anti-TerrorismAdvisory Council (ATAC) provides a central forum for agencies to congregate andidentify potential terrorism links among their investigations.
 
 Cybercrime
Computer and high-tech crime is one of thegreatest challenges confronting the law enforcement community around the world. The United States Attorney's Office is committed to confronting this challenge head on and bringing internet criminals to justice.
 
 Fraud & Identity Theft
The United States Attorney's Office will vigorously investigate and prosecute all frauds that violate federal law, including heath care fraud, financial institution fraud, and identity theft.

Information for Landlords
The United States Attorney's Office and your local police department are working together to address the use and sale of illegal drugs in our communities.  As part of that work, we are reaching out to landlords and property managers to enlist their help in discouraging drug activity in rental units they own and operate.
   
Environmental Justice and Public Health

 

Environmental Justice and Public Health
The U.S. Department of Justice enforces federal civil and criminal environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and hazardous waste laws. We also protect natural resources on federal land, such as the Green Mountain National Forest, the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge, and the Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge.
   
Public Safety

GunSafe
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District Vermont, in cooperation with the UVM Medical Center, ATF, the Vermont State Police, the Vermont Attorney General’s Office, the Vermont Sheriffs’ Association, the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Vermont’s Office of the Director of Violence Prevention, is launching a three-part campaign to promote safe gun storage in Vermont.
