Jenny A. Durkan is the United States Attorney for the Western District of Washington. In this capacity, she serves as trial counsel for the United States and her office represents the United States in most lawsuits there, both criminal and civil.
The office has a staff of approximately 69 Assistant U.S. Attorneys and 68 support staff (View Organizational Chart). It includes a Criminal Division as well as a Civil Division.
The office prosecutes cases investigated by several law enforcement agencies in Western Washington, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), U.S. Marshal's Service (USMS), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
The office also handles most civil claims made against the U.S. Government, pursues affirmative civil cases on its behalf, and collects debts owed.
The main office is located in Seattle, a branch office is located in Tacoma and a Vancouver Federal Investigative Center is located in Vancouver, Washington.
