United States Department of Justice Provides E-mail and Telephone Access to Concerned Citizens
On October 10, 2012, United States Attorney James L. Santelle announced that the United States Department of Justice, including both the Office of the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice, is continuing to gather facts and assemble information to determine whether there is a basis to conduct a formal “pattern and practice” investigation of the Milwaukee Police Department. In an effort to gather sufficient information to make an informed determination, the Civil Rights Division will accept information through telephonic and email systems beginning immediately.
Any individual interested in providing information can contact the United States Department of Justice telephonically at 1-855-544-5132 or via email at email@example.com. The recorded message is in both English and Spanish.
Although a special contact mechanism is being made available to the public, as always, the FBI Wisconsin Field Office is available to accept and receive reports and information from individuals about civil rights incidents. The FBI can be reached at 1-414-276-4684.
