Man Sentenced for Illegally Reentering U.S.

July 19, 2013

MADISON, WIS. -- John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Eloy Flores-Zuniga, 28, a citizen of Mexico, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb to five months in prison for illegally reentering the United States.  Flores-Zuniga pleaded guilty to this charge on April 30, 2013.

Flores-Zuniga had been removed from the United States on several prior occasions.  He was found living in Fort Atkinson, Wis., on February 1, 2013.

The charge against Flores-Zuniga was the result of an investigation conducted by U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement.  The prosecution of this case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney David J. Reinhard.
