Mexican Citizen Indicted for
Illegal Entry into the United States
WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA — A Mexican citizen was named in a an Indictment returned on April 7, 2009, by a Federal Grand Jury sitting in Wheeling, West Virginia.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that ABDIEL ROBLERO VASQUEZ was named in an Indictment charging him with illegal entry into the United States in late 2006 or in 2007.
If convicted, VASQUEZ faces a maximum penalty of six months imprisonment and a fine of $5,000.
The case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas O. Mucklow. The case was investigated by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
It should be noted that the charges contained in the Indictment are merely accusations and not evidence of guilt, and that each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
