Salem Resident Sentenced For
Maintaining A Residence in Lumberport
to Distribute Drugs Within 1,000 Feet of a School
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 48 year old Salem, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on January 21, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that ROGER PRITT was sentenced to 33 months imprisonment to be followed by six years supervised release. PRITT entered a plea of guilty on October 6, 2008, to an Information charging him with maintaining a residence in Lumberport from August 2006 to March 2007 within 1,000 feet of Lumberport Elementary School, for the purpose of distributing marijuana, oxycodone, morphine, and hydrocodone.
PRITT is free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew R. Cogar. The case was investigated by the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
