McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Resident Sentenced to
9 Years Imprisonment on Drug and Obstruction Charges
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 27 year old McKeesport, Pennsylvania, resident was sentenced on June 3, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that KEENON DAMOND MIKELL was sentenced to 108 months imprisonment to be followed by six years supervised release. MIKELL entered guilty pleas on June 11, 2008, to one count of aiding and abetting the distribution of cocaine, also known as “coke,” within 1,000 feet of a Laurel Lanes (a public housing authority) in Clarksburg, on November 11, 2005; and one count of conspiring to obstruct justice between September 11, 2007, and April 2008.
MIKELL is in federal custody.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
