Shinnston Resident Entered
Guilty Plea to Firearms Violation

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA -A 34 year old Shinnston, West Virginia, resident entered a guilty plea on January 11, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that JAMES LANHAM, JR. entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging LANHAM, who was previously convicted of domestic battery, with unlawfully possessing firearms on June 11, 2009, in Harrison County.

LANHAM, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
