Illegal Alien Sentenced

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 29 year old illegal alien was sentenced on January 5, 2010, in United States District Court in Martinsburg by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that JOSE ZAMORA ORTIZ was sentenced to 5-1/2 months imprisonment to be followed by one year supervised release. ORTIZ entered a plea of guilty on November 4, 2009, to illegally re-entering the United States without permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security nor the Attorney General of the United States. ORTIZ was most recently deported on March 12, 2008, from Nogales, Arizona.

ORTIZ is in federal custody.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti. The case was investigated by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
