Washington, DC, Resident Entered
Guilty Plea to Cocaine Charge
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 29 year old Washington, DC, resident entered a plea of guilty on April 21, 2010, in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.
United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that JERMAINE RUSSELL JOHNSON entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with the distribution of cocaine base on May 15, 2008.
JOHNSON, who is currently in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of five to 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti. The case was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, consisting of officers from the Martinsburg Police Department, the West Virginia State Police, and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department.
