Ritchie County Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to Manufacturing Marijuana Plants

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 56 year old Ritchie County resident entered a plea of guilty today (February 11, 2010) in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that ARTHUR BUCHANAN entered a plea of guilty to manufacturing marijuana plants from the Fall of 2006 to November 8, 2006, in Ritchie County. BUCHANAN, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police.
