Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Resident Sentenced to 5 Years
for Distribution of “Crack” Cocaine

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 22 year old Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, resident was sentenced on February 10, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that CHARLES CLINT GAINES, JR., also known as “CHUCK,” was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. GAINES entered a plea of guilty in October 2009 to one count of an Indictment charging him with the distribution of cocaine base, also known as “crack,” on May 12, 2009, in Clarksburg.

GAINES is in federal custody.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
