Two Defendants Sentenced on Firearms Violations

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Two defendants were sentenced on June 29, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that:

JAMIE K. JONES, age 32, of Charleston, West Virginia, was sentenced to 96 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $4,104.07. JONES entered a plea of guilty on February 24, 2010, to one count of an Indictment charging JONES with stealing five firearms from the Braxton Gun and Pawn Shop on October 13, 2009, in Braxton County. JONES is in federal custody.

JAMIE T. WEEKLY, age 30, of Enterprise, West Virginia, was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. WEEKLY entered a plea of guilty on February 25, 2010, to a one-count Information charging WEEKLY with unlawfully and knowingly transferring a machine gun in June 2008. WEEKLY is currently free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution.

The cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and were investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
