Missouri Resident Indicted on Arson Charges
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 40 year old Missouri resident was named in an Indictment returned by a Federal Grand Jury sitting in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that STEVEN O. PRICE was named in a one-count Indictment charging him with arson. The Indictment alleges that PRICE maliciously attempted to destroy a Werner Enterprises Freightliner Cascadia tractor trailer truck pulling a Wabash trailer by means of fire in Triadelphia, West Virginia, on June 23, 2010.
If convicted, PRICE faces a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
The case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
It should be noted that the charges contained in the Indictment are merely accusations and not evidence of guilt, and that each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
