Marion County Resident Sentenced for Violations
of Supervised Release
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A Marion County resident was sentenced on May 27, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that ROY HILLBERRY was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment, for violations of the conditions of his supervised release by committing another crime, that is having been convicted in State Court of Second Degree Robbery and Conspiracy in Monongalia County, West Virginia, on April 30, 2010. HILLBERRY was originally sentenced in the Southern District of Ohio to 51 months imprisonment for a bank robbery conviction. HILLBERRY also has a 1997 conviction from the State of Kentucky for armed robbery. HILLBERRY also faces a trial in Marion County, West Virginia, for additional charges of robbery and felon in possession of a firearm. HILLBERRY was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
The violations of the Supervised Release were investigated by the United States Probation Office. The United States Attorney's Office was represented by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn A. Morgan.
