Fairmont Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to Firearms Violation
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 47 year old Fairmont, West Virginia, resident, entered a plea of guilty on June 22, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.
United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that TERRY G. MEEKS entered a plea of guilty to a one-count Information charging him with knowingly receiving and possessing a firearm on May 14, 2009, in Fairmont which was not registered to him in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.
MEEKS, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $10,000.00.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
