Martinsburg Resident Enters Plea to Heroin Distribution
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 32 year old Martinsburg, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on March 17, 2010, in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Chief Judge John P. Bailey.
Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that: CHARLES GREGORY STICKELL entered a plea of guilty to one count of distribution of heroin within 1,000 feet of Winchester Elementary School in Martinsburg on January 22, 2008. STICKELL, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 1 to 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Erin K. Reisenweber and was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and uniformed members of the Martinsburg Police Department; West Virginia State Police; and Hagerstown, Maryland, Police Department. The Task Force consists of officers from the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Martinsburg Police Department, and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department.
