Marion County Resident Sentenced
to 10 Years on Firearms Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 33 year old Marion County, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on March 10, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that STACY THOMPSON, also known as STACEY THOMPSON, was sentenced to 120 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. THOMPSON entered a plea of guilty on December 10, 2010, to a one-count Information charging THOMPSON, a convicted felon, with knowingly possessing a loaded firearm while on pretrial release in another criminal case on November 13, 2009, in Worthington/Four States, Marion County.

THOMPSON is in federal custody.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives; Marion County Sheriff’s Department; and the United States Marshal Service.
