Buckhannon Resident Sentenced on Drug-Related Charge
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 21 year old Buckhannon, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on May 3, 2010, in United States District Court in Elkins by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.
United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that SHYLA LANDIS was sentenced to 51 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. LANDIS entered a plea of guilty on February 2, 2010, to one count of an Indictment charging her with possessing chemical, product, and material to be used to manufacture methamphetamine on February 26, 2009, in Upshur County. LANDIS was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
