Weirton Resident Sentenced on Firearm Charge
WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA — A 60 year old Weirton, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on September 28, 2010, in United States District Court in Wheeling by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that JOSEPH P. BURDINE
was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment to be followed by 3 years of supervised release. BURDINE entered a plea of guilty on May 10, 2010, to one count of aiding and abetting a false statement in the acquisition of a firearm on July 23, 2010, in Weirton, West Virginia. BURDINE, who is free on bond, will self-report to the designated Federal institution on October 29, 2010.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
