Elkins Resident Entered Guilty Plea
To Theft of Mail Matter
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 38 year old Elkins, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on September 14, 2010, in United States District Court in Elkins before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that TISHA FAYE HINCHMAN entered a plea of guilty to stealing a Social Security check made payable to another person out of a mail receptacle on July 31, 2009, in Elkins. HINCHMAN, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Elkins Police Department.
