Ohio Resident Sentenced on Firearms Charge

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - A 31 year old East Liverpool, Ohio, resident was sentenced on August 15, 2011, in United States District Court in Wheeling by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that KEITH DENNIS was sentenced to 70 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. DENNIS entered a plea of guilty on April 4, 2011, to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearms from April 10, 2010, to April 13, 2010, in Chester, Hancock County, West Virginia. DENNIS was previously convicted of Battery in the Superior Court of St. Joseph County, Indiana, and was prohibited from possessing a firearm. DENNIS was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
