Ohio Resident Enters
Guilty Plea to Stolen Firearms Charge
WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - A 37 year old Martins Ferry, Ohio, resident entered a plea of guilty on July 19, 2011, in United States District Court in Wheeling before Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that WILLIAM R. BRATTON entered a plea of guilty to the possession and disposal of a stolen firearm on March 16, 2011, in Moundsville, West Virginia.
BRATTON, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert H. McWilliams, Jr. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the Martins Ferry Police Department.
