Illegal Alien Convicted and Sentenced for
Illegal Reentry into the United States

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 40 year old illegal alien was convicted and sentenced on May 2-3, 2011, in United States District Court in Elkins before Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that ELVIN VALLADARES-BONILLA was convicted after a two-day bench trial of reentering the United States without having obtained the express consent of the Secretary of Homeland Security or the Attorney General of the United States to reapply for admission into the United States, after having been found in Hardy County, on September 7, 2010.

VALLADARES-BONILLA was sentenced to time-served, having been in custody since September 7, 2010.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by Department of Home Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the West Virginia State Police.
