Granville Resident Sentenced on Heroin Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 26 year old Granville, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on November 28, 2011, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that DALE CHRISTOPHER BROWN was sentenced to 12 months and 1 day imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. BROWN entered a plea of guilty on August 15, 2011, to one count of an Indictment charging him with the possession with intent to distribute heroin on August 8, 2010, in Monongalia County, West Virginia. BROWN, who is free on bond, will self-report to the designated Federal institution on January 5, 2012.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and was investigated by the Mon Valley Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the Morgantown Police Department, the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
