New Martinsville Resident Enters Guilty Plea in Federal Court

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA — A 33 year old New Martinsville, West Virginia, resident entered pleas of guilty on October 13, 2011, in United States District Court in Wheeling before Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: BRIAN C. JENKINS entered pleas of guilty to one count of production of child pornography in Marshall County, West Virginia, on April 21, 2010; and one count of tampering with a witness in Doddridge and Marshall Counties on November 4, 2010, by using intimidation, threats and persuasion to influence the testimony of an individual in an official proceeding. JENKINS, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure exposure of 15 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000 on the production of child pornography charge and 5 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000 on the intimidation charge.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri and was investigated by the New Martinsville Police Department and the West Virginia State Police.
