Maryland Resident Enters Plea to Bank Fraud Charge
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 28 year old Coppa, Maryland, resident entered a plea of guilty on May 14, 2012, in United States District Court in Martinsburg by Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that:
GIRARD ELDRIDGE CURRY, age 28, of Coppa, Maryland, entered a plea of guilty to one count of bank fraud. On August 31, 2011, CURRY developed a scheme to defraud SunTrust Bank by using false identification to obtain $48,500. CURRY, who is free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 30 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the United States Secret Service, the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force and the Arlington, Virginia, Police Department.
