Marion County Resident Enters Plea to Distribution of
Hydrocodone within 1,000 Feet of a Protected Location

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 52-year old Fairmont, West Virginia resident entered a plea of guilty on November 29, 2012, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: RITA WATKINS entered a plea of guilty to “Distribution of Hydrocodone within 1,000 Feet of Simpson Elementary School on December 11, 2011. WATKINS, who is free on bond pending sentencing, faces up to 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Criminal Chief Shawn A. Morgan and investigated by the Harrison County Drug Task Force consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and the Bridgeport Police Department.
