Florida Resident Sentenced on Drug Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 31 year old, Arcadia, Florida, resident was sentenced on October 5, 2012, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: MATTHEW ALLEN FORINASH was sentenced to 41 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. FORINASH entered a plea of guilty on June 4, 2012, to Conspiracy to Distribute Oxycodone from June to August of 2010, in Clarksburg, West Virginia. As part of the conspiracy, FORINASH would send packages through the United States mail from Florida to Clarksburg containing oxycondone pills, which were then redistributed in the Clarksburg, West Virginia, area. The Court also ordered FORINASH to pay a money judgment of $50,400 which represents the proceeds from the illegal drug activity.

FORINASH, who is free on bond, will self-report to the designated Federal institution.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew R. Cogar and investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Clarksburg Police Department.
