Fairmont Resident Sentenced on Firearms Charge
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 30 year old Fairmont, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on October 26, 2012, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: JOHN D. WASHINGTON was sentenced to 78 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. WASHINGTON entered a plea of guilty on September 4, 2012, to Possession of a Firearm on November 26, 2011, in Marion County, after having previously being convicted in the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia for being a felon in possession of a firearm. WASHINGTON was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal institution.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
