U. S. Attorney Recognizes Wheeling Employee

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA — United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter recently recognized Christina Jo (Mehler) Frizzell as the recipient of the United States Attorney’s Award for 2007.

According to Potter, the award, which is presented annually, recognizes and rewards staff members for exemplary service to the office. In making the selection for this award, Potter considered all aspects of performance, including excellence in job performance and professionalism, as well as contributions to office efficiency and fostering of productive relationships with other agencies and the public.

USA Potter stated that Christina Jo Frizzell was selected for the outstanding work she performed on behalf of victims of crime during the calendar year 2007 and for the extraordinary effort she exhibited in presenting internet safety courses to children and adults across the Northern District of West Virginia. Frizzell, who joined the United States Attorney’s Office in 1999 as the Victim-Witness Coordinator, is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Masters Degree in Social Work. She is the daughter of Judy Mehler and the late Fred Mehler of Moundsville. Frizzell resides in Glen Dale, with her husband Chuck and their two children.

According to USA Potter, “Chris Frizzell has earned this recognition for her tireless efforts on behalf of the victims of crime and their families. She puts in many hours on weekends offering fingerprinting to children and their parents and believes in preventing crime through education. Chris participates in many community presentations about the dangers of methamphetamine and other drugs, and is an integral part of our office’s initiative ON LINE Be ON GUARD, having presented internet safety programs to children and adults throughout West Virginia. I congratulate Chris on this achievement.”
