CHARLESTON MAN SENTENCED TO OVER SEVEN YEARS IN PRISON
Charleston, WV – ROBERT H. POORE, 40, of Charleston, West Virginia, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin to 92 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of cocaine base. POORE previously pled guilty in October 2006, admitting to the charge. The conviction and sentence stems from police response to a domestic violence call on Lewis Street on April 12, 2006. Charleston Police officers observed POORE discard an item which later proved to contain approximately seven grams of crack cocaine. POORE subsequently admitted that he intended to sell the crack cocaine "to make money."
