CHARLESTON DRUG DEALER PLEADS GUILTY

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Patrick Ryan Jefferson, 26, of Charleston, West Virginia, pleaded guilty today to distribution of cocaine base. The conviction stems from an investigation conducted by the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team (MDENT). On February 5, 2010, Jefferson distributed a quantity of crack cocaine in exchange for $1,000 to a confidential informant working under the direction of detectives with the drug task force. Jefferson is scheduled for sentencing on August 19, 2010 before United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston. He faces up to 20 years in prison, up to a million dollar fine, and three years supervised release.
